Hopkins ends holdout after one day

The star of Houston Texans boycotted training to seek a new contract on Saturday. However, Hopkins ended holdout and returned to the team on Sunday, only one day after he protested to the team.

“I too am disappointed that the Texans organization has elected not to enter into contract negotiations to secure my future as a Texan,” Hopkins said in a statement to ESPN. “I have expressed my sincere position regarding my contract status and with sound mind have expressed my stands to the Texans organization. My focus also is on the 2016 season and to help my team reach our ultimate goal.”

Hopkins, 24 years old, caught 111 balls in 2015 for 1521 yards and 11 TDs. His salary is only $1 million but he is subject to a $40,000 fine for missing work Saturday.
